What's the difference between Custom and Programmatic?


There are a few key differences between our Custom and Programmatic offerings:

  • The pricing models are different. Keep in mind that Programmatic is billed on a CPM and impressions are what will be paced towards, while Custom is billed on management fee and will be paced towards platform spend.

  • The inventory and/or placements are different. Since Custom is not billed off of a CPM, the ability to purchase custom deals or bid more in the platform becomes a possibility. There’s also specific cases like for Audio or OTT, where the inventory is completely different.

  • The targeting capabilities are the same. Aside from the ability to purchase specific inventory, our Programmatic and Custom solutions, whether it be Display, Video, OTT, or Audio offer the exact same targeting capabilities.
